so beautiful
I was just sitting in the sunroom the other morning in the best seat in the house, looked out across the fields and gave thanks that I live here in a place so beautiful.

Thursday
Thursday was the kind of day that would make even the gloomiest person to stand up and take notice of it, it was a nearly perfect day. The sun was out, which after many, many, many days of constant rain, made for a delightfully warm, bright, sunny day and then the wind! Oh the glorious wind! Wind is a necessary element for me to have a day of perfect weather, a wild, rugged and independent wind to whirl around you commanding everything living thing in it's path to bend at it's whim. It causes the tall, lush, grass in the fields to sway; the branches to bob, leaves to dance and laugh, it even causes the pine tree to exhale as it blows through it's branches. I mean honestly are there many sounds as soothing or comforting as wind in the pines? You cannot ever see it but you know it's there. There are so few days like this that it even beckons us humans to be outside in it to soak up the nearly impossible beauty and to fully appreciate the effort of a day like Thursday.

It IS a beautiful world
All the noise and the voices are screaming what they have to say
And all the headlines and soundbites are giving me demons to hate
And the man on TV, he tells me it's ugly, but if you ask me it's a
Beautiful world, it's a beautiful world
There's tears and there's fears and there's losses and crosses to bear
And sometimes the best we can do is just to whisper a prayer
Then press on because
There's so much to live for and so much love in this
Beautiful world
Say what you will but I still believe
It's a beautiful world
It's a beautiful world
And I know I'm not dreaming
I just chose to believe it
So I hate that I sometimes miss what's in front of me eyes
And I know at the end of my road I'll be wanting more time
Just another sunset
One more kiss from my baby, a smile from a friend, in this
Beautiful world
It's a beautiful world
Yeah, it's a beautiful world
Say what you will but I still believe
It's a beautiful world
It's a beautiful world

I post this tonight because this is one of my favorite songs and I could never have written that sentiment so eloquently. I post it for my children in the hope that they will always be able to see it as a beautiful world and be able to beautifully find their place in it. I post it for future generations in the hope it will continue to be a beautiful world. I know some of you may think I'm just being naive or looking through rose colored glasses, but let me assure you that I am not. This beautiful world has and will continue to have it's share of heartache but what I'm trying to focus on is that even in the heartache there is beauty. Trying to learn to dance in the rain and living in a beautiful world by making it that way because of the choices I make.

Sailors Delight
On my way home from town tonight I was absolutely gobsmacked by the beauty of this sunset. I was fortunate enough to have brought along my camera to capture it.
