big interview coming up
This Friday, (like tomorrow!) we are being interviewed to potentially have kids from the Fresh Air Fund placed with us this summer. I am nervous and excited about this and am asking that if you have any room on your prayer list you could add us, (and the child/ren that will be placed with us), to it once or twice. I've been talking to the area coordinator and was told today that it's our responsibility to provide a peaceful safe place for these kids. I was sitting in the sun room, looking out at the window at the chicken pecking and scratching in the grass and smiled. Yup, got that covered!

praying ...and can't wait to meet/spoil them..........
ReplyDeleteWe had Fresh Air kids once. A bad experience for us, but not the kids' fault at all, and knowing what I know NOW, I would have, and SHOULD have, definitely done it again when my OWN kids were older. We also took a boy from Belfast, Ireland for a summer, and THAT went well. I think it will be a good experience for you and for your kids/the FA kids. You have the PERFECT place for them, and doing things like swimming, feeding animals, and just breathing in the fresh country air provides the best vacation ever for them. God Bless you for doing it, and I will DEFINITELY say a prayer for you now, and then again during their stay!!
ReplyDeleteI appreciate the prayers. I was told that it doesn't always work out for both parties, but I'm hopeful it will.
ReplyDeleteI think you have a great place, and a wonderful set of kiddo's that would help any situation. Good luck with your interview!
ReplyDeleteAww thanks Kelly's, I appreciate that. And yes, they are pretty great, but I'm biased... :-)
ReplyDeleteI'll keep you in my prayers, as always!!
ReplyDeleteAnd the answer is "yes" to all those people wondering if Ron was on-board with this! Hope this is just the start of something great! Thank you for all your prayers!
ReplyDeleteWell we have to be in agreement in this...we wouldn't be approved otherwise....
ReplyDeleteIt is also my hope to have the chance to touch a child's life with the simple act of providing a "safe and peaceful place," just another reason to be thankful for this piece of land!
From drab colorless sky and noisy to clean air and quiet...AH!
